This is definitely not normal

February 25, 2007

I just wanted to show everyone what happens up here at Northland. Both pictures were taken from the same exact place, less than 24 hours apart.02-24-07-006.jpg02-25-07-004.jpg

We had a snow storm that started at 4:30 in the morning and there was 6 inches when I woke up at 6:00. We already have a foot now and it isn’t supposed to stop for awhile. Now we are all stuck on campus and not allowed to go anywhere. That just means more studying for me. At least it is warm inside.

The Northland Seal

February 8, 2007

The other day in chapel Dr. Olilla expounded on the words on the Northland seal. There are only four words, but they are a driving force behind our school. And when I say they are a driving force behind our school, I mean our administrators, who are an outstanding example to the students. The students follow the example of the administrators, and in turn live out these four characteristics:

Honesty = “taking off the masks” (transparency)

Obedience = “our love for God is manifested by our obedience to Him”

Wisdom = “the fear of God is wisdom” (Job 28:28)

Service = “Jesus Christ is our model for servitude” (Mark 10:42-45)

If Northland students, faculty/staff, and administrators will continue to keep these characteristics first and foremost in their lives, they will continue to send out graduates with a focus on God

No Limit

January 21, 2007

I decided to study through Ephesians this semester and I’m already in chapter 3. This weeks study has been very encouraging. I just finished the last few verses and I looked back through the whole chapter and was amazed at what God has provided for us. from verses 14-21 I have seen that:

There is no limit to the Spirit’s power.

There is no limit to Christ’s indwelling.

There is no limit to God’s love.

There is no limit to being filled with God.

There is no limit in God’s provision.

THERE IS NO LIMIT TO GOD!

I can always learn more about God. I can always be more filled with the Spirit, Son, and Father. I can always find love from Him. He has everything that I need. He is my ALL.

I’m Finally Back

January 15, 2007

So I know that I haven’t written in a really long time, but I’m going to try to start writing again. I traveled for Northland last semester and that was really good for me. Our team traveled from Wisconsin to Maine and back, an overall trip of about 17,000 miles. God kept us safe and now I’m back in class. This week I’m taking a Winter School class. I have a ton to do this semester, but it is worth it because I’m going to graduate this May. It’s good to be back, and I’m sorry that I haven’t posted in a while.

I am now perplexed and baffled at what to do about this World Cup final. I don’t have much respect for either team, because the teams that I had all the chips on are out of the tournament. Italy tends to have a problem with falling over, which I don’t mind to a certain point, but they are far past that point of me minding. And France, well… need I say more than “France”. So I’m trying to decide whether I will watch this final match or “sit it out” until 2010. I have a few days to ponder what I will do. But until then, I must enhance my own abillities so that if I am called upon by my country to represent, I will not be a disgrace as the manner of some is.
